I came to this restaurant on Wednesday afternoon with my boyfriend. Outside was freezing, so I was glad that I was seated right away. This place was very quiet and kind of empty. Inside was a lot warmer but where I was seated, I still felt a bit of a breeze. This restaurant had a lot of seatings and had nice decorations. The servers were pretty nice and checked up on us once. When we needed something we have to wave them down. We ordered dry pot with beef and it came with rice. I love the flavors and the beef was tender. One dish wasn't enough so we ordered steamed eggplant with minced pork. This dish took forever to come out. If a dish take a long time to come out, I expect it to taste amazing. However, this dish was a let down. It lacked a bit of flavor, so we asked for hot sauce to make up for the taste. The server also gave a rice for this eggplant dish also. One important thing for those of you who need to use the women's restroom. I went to the middle stall and locked it all the way. That was a bad idea. The door's lock wasn't aligned properly and it took me a while to get out of the stall (I thought I was going to be stuck inside). It took a lot of muscles (pushing the door and pull the lock) to get out of the bathroom. Please be careful. Besides that issue, I enjoyed eating at this restaurant.

Food (5/5): We got the minced pork eggplant and the beef dry pot stir fry. Both delicious were solid and quite delicious. Be careful of the numbing pepper though in the hotpot. Next time I would ask to see if that could be removed. Service (4/5): The servers didn't go out of their way to be friendly but they helped when asked and we had no issues redeeming the Yelp check-in offer. The hotpot came out at moderate speed but the eggplant with minced pork took a long time. Ambiance (5/5): The restaurant looked really nice and modern with beautiful sphere chandelier type lights. The seats were spacious and well maintained. Overall a nice looking restaurant.

Lovely sichuan/hunan cuisine in Jersey city. Steps away from PATH Newport station. The space is modern with high ceiling and glass wall, bright and airy. The menus all come with picture very helpful for those who are not familiar with the Chinese cuisine, you just have to give them the dish number. Service is also very fast, didn't have long wait to be seated and food come out very fast. The food is very authentic. Not all are super spicy there are options or different level of spicy for everyone. My favorites are Chongqing noodle, has a good scallion oil taste and medium spicy. The chingqing style fried chicken is crispy and boneless. Big chunks of dark meat very delicious. All the plating are so adorable. Food are on the pricy side but definitely worth every penny.

Arrived to much fanfare - the New Jersey Half-Marathon finish line was right around the corner! Joking aside, first impressions are a bright, modern dining room with good music playing, a fully stocked bar, and the typical copper faced fireplace that gives the whole restaurant a nice touch of style. The staff was exceptionally friendly - I often look for the smiles and friendly demeanor. Here it was great - and there was no waiting around for menus or water, they were brought right away. The waiter circled around a couple of times to check whether we were ready, also a nice touch - I'd rather be asked repeatedly than struggle to get their attention. The menu is beyond robust - I swear we took 20 minutes trying to make up our minds since there were soooo many yummy looking dishes that got me excited for my return trip to China. Our selection.... Spicy Wontons -- weakest link of the meal. A little soggy but more importantly the flavor was bland. Only came out with just the chili oil - no cilantro or other things. We ended up dipping them in the Chongqing Noodle sauce Chongqing Noodles -- DELICIOUS with large helping of noodles. Be sure to mix everything as all the good stuff is in the bottom of the bowl. Chongqing Style Fried Chicken -- way bigger than I expected, in a good way. Large piece of juicy chicken lightly fried on the outside. Flavor excellent. Leap Frog in Special Hunan Sauce -- the sauce was awesome, and I loved the huge pieces of cucumber. Frog meat is quite small - I might suggest going with fish instead if you're hungry, but otherwise, I really enjoyed this dish. Suggest the restaurant source larger frog legs. Shell-in Shrimp Garlic Sauce -- nice flavor, great that it comes with glass noodles. I wish the shells would come off easier but what can you do. Overall tasty. Pumpkin Cookies - fried pumpkin cakes with red beans. Good. Would love with a red bean ice cream.
